Planned
Parenthood v. John Danforth (MI State
Attorney General) - 1976
Planned Parenthood challenged
a statute that would force a married woman to obtain her husbands approval
before getting an abortion.Under this
law, minors would also be required to get parental consent.
The Supreme Court struck down
this law, stating that husbands cannot have absolute veto power of their wives
reproductive health, and minors should not be kept out of reproductive health
decisions either.
